Operational inspection

In the operational inspection, it is verified that the pressure equipment has sufficient safety-related devices and systems, and that they function properly.

During the operational inspection, the following is checked:

  • the pressure equipment has adequate safety-related devices and systems, and they operate correctly;
  • the operator has sufficient qualifications;
  • the condition of the pressure equipment, its accessories, insulation, weather protection, and other external structures is appropriate;
  • the pressure equipment can operate safely within the system to which it is connected;
  • a hazard assessment has been conducted as stipulated in Section 65 of the Pressure Equipment Act; and the requirements for operational supervision outlined in Sections 13 and 14 of Chapter 4 are met.
