Internal inspection
In the internal inspection of pressure equipment, it must be verified that there are no defects or characteristics in the equipment and its accessories that could jeopardize the safe use of the pressure equipment. Inspections related to piping connected to the pressure equipment can be replaced by monitoring the pressure equipment itself.
The internal inspection also refers to performing the external inspection of the pressure equipment. The internal inspection is conducted on the entire pressure vessel. The inspection focuses on weld joints, possible corrosion, cracks, erosion, overheated areas, discontinuities, and sharp edges. Additionally, the condition of internal accessories and supporting structures is checked. Large shut-off and safety valves must be opened for the inspection. During the internal inspection, parts of hot components that are designed based on creep strength are also examined.
